He catalogs lots of "voting with the middle finger" defiance from the electorate in the midst of a change in the primary news-getting media. We no longer have the three networks whose news programs were loss leaders, constructed to justify their licensing as public services. Now we have for-profit news, without much fact-checking.
Good old Marshall McCluhan used to say that the "Medium is the Massage"...essentially calling all human tools "media." So...we make our tools and then our tools make us.
